Great News from Florida
When I left the meeting I was not sure I had heard it right or not. So after getting back home for the evening I replayed the Polk County BoCC meeting. And yes it was clear Polk County has agreed to start using the E-Verify program. On Friday it was backed up by an e-mail to the County Manger. In the e-mail he confirmed that Polk County is using the program. And are adding an document to the Contractor bidding package. In it they have to state that by law they will not be working illegal aliens on these work sites.

This was good news for us for we have been working on this for a while. The following Tuesday we went before the Highlands County Commissioners with the program. In seeing the need to do something the board greed to look the program over and what to see how it will fare the next few months. As most of us know the Congress and Senate need to extend the program for the next 5 years. I am hopping for word soon. Coming up we will be meeting with the City of Avon Park and show them what we have done to this point in hope they will start using it also. We are starting to get call from others wanting us to come to their counties also. So here is to hope. Thanks for all you all do.
